  • Using a pulping machine, processors remove the pulp from the coffee cherry, leaving just the bean and parchment peel.
  • When the beans are ripe, they are weighed and placed in fermentation tanks for 12 to 48 hours to remove the mucilage outside the beans. 
  • Wet method beans must be dried to 11% moisture after fermentation.
  • Processing of beans begins via a hulling machine, which removes the outer husk of the coffee cherry, followed by a polishing machine, which removes any remaining skin. 
  • These polished beans, which now resemble store-bought beans, are graded, sorted, and ready for shipment, with faulty beans eliminated before packaging.
